Why Android Is Better Than iOS: Top 10 Reasons

In the era of pocket computers, all we want is more facilities in smart digital appliances at hand. Although, the race of digital dominance began in 2007 with the introduction of the original iPhone. People want to use an iPhone just because it is regarded as the most sophisticated digital piece one must keep in their hand. The new iPhone 11 Pro Max is the most powerful apple smartphone presently as it has a six-core CPU with only 4GB of RAM. The iPhone's cameras are the most effective especially when we talk about their video recording feature which is top in the market of smartphones today. And, frankly speaking, the costliness cannot restrict one who can afford it. Whereas, Android OS is based on the Linux kernel and is mostly used in mobile devices like smartphones and tablet computers. The android operating system was developed by the Open Handset Alliance, sponsored by Google. It gives a unified method of software development for mobile devices. This means developers need only develop for Android and be able to run their apps on various devices powered by Android. Google released its first beta version of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK) in 2007. Later, the key commercial version, i.e., Android version 1.0, was released on 23 September 2008. The long-lasting debate on Android vs iOS can be settled through discussion on the various features each holds.

Camera:

Most of the young women only check camera quality before buying a smartphone.

This is a good reason why most of them prefer to buy an iPhone whatever the price is. Therefore, recently Android production has improved its camera quality to stand in the market demands.
Android provides you the world's top cameras by now.
For example, the Samsung S10 which was released in 2019 has a 40mp back camera. Samsung further improved this by 2020 with the s20 ultra which is capable of up to 100x zoom.
If you love to have a good camera on your phone you will choose an iPhone but then you will prefer an Android phone with the same camera quality for a cheaper price.

Price: Everyone can afford

Android phones are cheaper than the iPhone with the same facilities. It possesses a good reason before the customers to choose an Android phone over an iOS, Apple phone. Albeit, the best android phones are the as same price as the iPhones, but then you are getting various options while buying an Android.

Storage:

We use our smartphones, unlike an actual phone for just calling and sending messages. We prefer a camera together with a photo album, a video recorder, a music player, a smart TV, a book, and a digital library, amongst others. This magnitude of demand urges mass storage in the smartphone. Here, Apple has been qualified enough to satisfy its consumers. The latest iPhones have up to 200GB ROM and 16GB RAM.
The difference lies in the fact that you can extend an android’s memory with the SD card or memory card, an iPhone doesn’t have features like having a memory card.
But Android devices are providing you mass storage of now up to 1TB.
Certain Androids like the Samsung mobile are widely decorated with large storage and you don’t need to go the extra mile to secure an iPhone when you can easily get an Android with an extension of 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB memory card. The android phone gives you a USB on-the-go (OTG).

Lavish Screen Size:

To do our day-to-day tasks on the smartphone we need a sufficient screen in it. Android devices provide you a beautiful extra large screen. For example, the first set of phablets which has been offered by Android is known as the greatest. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 comes with a 6.3-inch screen.

Whereas, the iPhone X or iPhone 11, iPhone offers nothing more than a 5.8-inch screen.

The Note 10+ is about 6.8 inches while the Galaxy s20 ultra has a whopping 6.9 inches.

To get a smartphone of your choice with a good size of the screen that too at a cheaper price you should choose Android.

Battery:

Android provides you the best durability in terms of battery life. Even an expensive iPhone is unable to compete with an Android on durability.

An android battery ranges from 2000 mAh to 7000 mAh, for example, the Huawei phones.
You can use it for 3 days without charging and non-stop usage.

Whereas, an iPhone is giving you up to 3500 mAh. With an iPhone, you must keep a power bank.

Application:

The apple store is bigger than the android play store. It is noteworthy that there are several apps in the Apple stores which are not available in the play store. Here the issue is you have to buy your favorite app from the apple store. But you can download the same from the play store for free.

The apple store now has more than 2 million apps whereas Google Play store possesses 2.5 million apps.

The iPhone sets can only connect to each other. But cannot receive or send an app or file to an Android user. But an Android phone, on the other hand, can’t receive or send files to iPhones but all android phones can connect to each other. The Xender and Flash are apps that were originally developed for Android phones, though Bluetooth exists in both smartphones.

Smart Assistance:

Google Assistant, the best feature on Android, will stop you from at least once before you go for an iPhone. It brings you everything you need. Google has come up with a helping hand to make your life simpler during a busy schedule. Thus, if you mark a date on Google Calendar to go for a meeting by 10:00 AM and then traffic in your place is heavy, the Google Assistant can provide you a notice that you have to leave early.

Whereas Siri is another Apple’s smart Assistant which is improving day by day with new products of iOS. You must know, the Google Assistant is available in the iPhones too.

Google Apps:

As we all know, Android is an open-source project called AOSP (Android Open Source Project) which is led by Google.

Google services are a common part of Android devices.

For example, Google Maps, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Music, or Google Chrome. These services make our lives smarter and easier technologically.

Android keeps us updated with technology which is not there in iPhones.

Security System:

On Android Devices-

The Android developers are constantly building new apps supposed to run on their system. You must be extra careful while downloading the app from third party sources where hackers place apps just to corrupt your mobile devices.

Google Play provides an app review process before installing such apps. Which is good but not enough. Here the problem lies that the user can allow the installation of software from Unknown Sources.  The software or APK can be downloaded and installed from a website succeeding in the Google PlayStore review.

Android owners can also change the source code of their Android devices which makes Android devices vulnerable to cyber attacks.

On Apple iPhones-

Strict Controls: It’s more difficult for developers as well as for hackers to get apps into the App Store. As the review process is stricter in it. You need to worry less while downloading apps from Apple App Store regarding a malicious app.

Rigid System: Apple never allows the owners of its devices to change the iOS operating system in their devices. It makes the system more rigid and secure.

But digital-assistance like Siri’s voice does not have Apple's support. Therefore, you must be careful while using such devices.

Remember: No Digital Appliance Is Risk-Free. No matter how much stronger the security is there is always a chance for it to get attacked by the more intelligent cyber professionals.
